FF/SS/EP Single Sphere Nylon reinforced EPDM flex connectors and
FF/DS/EP Double Sphere Nylon reinforced EPDM flex connectors are
designed with an EPDM elastomer FOR USE IN SYSTEMS REQUIRING A HIGHER OPERATING TEMPERATURE than the conventional Neoprene flex connectors. The EPDM connectors have the same dimension, pressure and movement specifications as the Neoprene.
These connectors isolate noise and vibration in piping systems. Mechanical equipment can be installed on bases that isolate this noise and vibration from the structure, but flexible connectors are required to isolate that noise and vibration from the piping system.
Spherical rubber connectors effectively dampen noise and vibration, absorb axial compression and extension, and accommodate lateral and angular movement. They are most effective when installed parallel to the rotating shaft of equipment. If the piping is not anchored and supported, control units MUST BE Installed to prevent hyper-extension of the connector due to system pressure thrust.
EPDM spherical connectors are a solution for applications requiring expansion joints / flexible connectors in industrial process piping and in HVAC piping systems. The rotating steel plate flanges ease installation, and the spherical shape of the connector is self-cleaning and applies the system pressure in all directions, reducing the force exerted on piping and equipment.
